Description

The 2018 Honda CB1000R is a maxinaked heir to Honda’s best technology offering sweeping style from the Neo Sport Café project. Although it takes the basis of the old CB1000 R, the entire design has been redesigned as well as the cycle part and even the engine that has a significant power gain by offering 143 HP.

The CB1000R wants to dazzle not only for its new extremely minimalist aesthetic but also for its dynamic capabilities, which is why it puts on the table an increase in power of 20 hp as well as a weight reduction of 12 kg. This is quite a statement of intent that also shows the character of the engine and its new gearbox.

It develops 16% more peak power at just 10,000rpm and 5% more torque in the mid-range zone. It also has a 4% shorter gear development to achieve faster acceleration taking advantage of increased power. In fact, in the first 3 ratios, up to 130 km / h, the CB1000R has better performance than the CBR1000RR. And it has slipper assisted clutch as standard.

The engine compression ratio goes up to 11.6: 1 and the pistons are now forged as in the CBR1000RR SP. The butterflies of the injection body are larger (44 mm) and the combustion chamber has been redesigned. Other important modified elements are the duct and the airbox box.

Another important element is the new 4-2-1 exhaust that has also contributed to the overall reduction in weight by 4.5 kg compared to the previous model. And it has a very important impact on sound since it has been designed so that from 5,000 rpm it intensifies its sound until it almost howls as the needle scales on the tachometer.
