This Gold Wing weighs up to 48 kilos less than the previous model, and that maintains its six-cylinder engine with four valves each. An electronic throttle, four driving modes -Tour, Sport, Eco, selectable torque control and hill start assistant have been added this time. It also incorporates a slow forward and reverse assistant to facilitate maneuvering.

The aluminum chassis is completely new, designed to house the new engine, now being a narrower motorcycle and offering a smoother and more stable behavior. A double wishbone front suspension has been mounted at the front, reducing friction in potholes and braking, as well as achieving greater agility in turns.

The Gold Wing has a combined braking system (D-CBS) that distributes the braking force between the two wheels. ABS, meanwhile, works in connection with the selected driving mode, adjusting the characteristics of braking and suspension. The rear spring preload is now electrically adjusted as well, with adjustments monitored on the TFT screen.

As for the finishes, one of the main characteristics is the electric screen that is activated from the left side of the handlebar and allows the angle and height to be varied. All lights are LED. The lower part of the headlamps uses 5 polished optical lenses on both sides to create a special low light beam. The high beam (at the top) creates a stereoscopic impression. The front turn signals are housed in the rear view mirrors and are self-canceling; The system compares the difference in speed between the front and rear wheels and calculates when to cancel the turn signal based on the driving situation.

The instrumentation is dominated by a 7-inch TFT screen that provides all the necessary information and integrates audio and navigation systems as well as engine torque management and suspension settings. It allows you to choose between eight levels of luminosity to avoid visibility problems. The Gold Wing is compatible with Apple CarPlay, so that the information and content of the iPhone itself can be used both by Bluetooth and by a USB cable.

The most equipped Tour version, which in turn is divided into two versions, one with a manual transmission and the other with a double-clutch Honda DCT system – third generation and with seven gears – and airbag. In the lower DCT speed range of the new Gold Wing, the gear ratios are closed, reducing the abruptness of the shift, and in the higher speed range the shift is more open to reduce engine rpm. In both speed ranges, comfort is improved since the gear changes and reductions are of the highest quality. The new Gold Wing DCT incorporates a Walking Mode at 1.8 km / h forward and 1.2 km / h rearward, which is instantly actuated by a +/- switch on the left side of the handlebar . the basic version has a six-speed manual transmission.

The rear top box of the ‘Tour’ versions can accommodate 2 full face helmets; and combined with the suitcases the available capacity is 110L. The opening is by means of a button or by means of the proximity control. As options, a luggage rack is available for the top box and interior bags of exclusive design.
