Total renovation of the Suzuki GSX-R1000, with new bodywork, as in its engine, as in the brakes and suspensions. It is modernizing to compete in the complicated 1000 sports segment, a market that is booming and in which almost all brands have been fully involved. This is the base version since Suzuki has developed another with better suspensions and more complete electronics, the GSX-R1000R.

The experience accumulated in the MotoGP World Championship has served to provide many electronic aids to the new GSX-R1000, which now mounts a three-axis IMU electronic package. This superbike has traction control with ten modes: four for circuit, four for city and two for rain. To these modes we must add three others that can be selected by the pilot using a button located on his left fist for sporty driving, normal driving and rain.

The engine is completely new and is around 200 hp at 14,500 rpm, about 15 hp than the previous one, and it maintains its four-cylinder in-line structure, titanium valves and with variable distribution by means of a centrifugal system patented by Suzuki itself. . The silencer is very large in order to comply with Euro 4 regulations without having to place cameras in other parts of the route.

There are no major differences in terms of chassis dimensions, although it is lighter and stronger, which implies greater handling and rigidity on twisty roads and on the track. The suspensions are Showa BFS, with both the shock absorber and the fork being adjustable, while in the front axle we find two Brembo monobloc calipers with radial pump that work on two 320 mm floating discs.
