Description
We can hardly find a motorcycle with its characteristics that pretends to be its rival. A breath of fresh air that can only be provided by a brand like MV Agusta. The new three-cylinder Schiranna has reserved us some spectacular performance, with a power of 125 hp at 12,000 rpm, for a motorcycle of “only” 170 kg. In the frame we have the usual multi-tubular steel combination combined with an aluminum rear, without missing the usual aluminum rear swingarm, characteristic of all MV Agusta.
The steering angle is half a degree higher compared to the Brutale 800, and the suspensions, multi-adjustable both front (Marzocchi) and rear (Sachs), take longer runs than the usual sports Supersport or Naked. As for brakes, it shares the same high-quality components as the Brutale, 320mm front disc and Brembo radial caliper, and 220mm rear disc. and two-piston caliper.
The Rivale 800 concept stems from many motorcycle styles. It proposes to take the “Extreme Motard” concept further, which combines a trail-supermoto-naked asphalt, based on the Brutale 800, from which it takes its same engine and part cycle, and is distinguished by its longer-travel suspensions, compact design on which features a small headlight mask, as well as 100% digital instrumentation. The solution of the triple exhaust outlet on the right side, gives it an unmatched personality.
The new Rivale 800 represents a serious evolution with first line qualities, with more power and better torque data. MV Agusta has done an excellent job on a propeller that weighs the same as the 675. The piston stroke has been increased to 54.3mm and more torque has been achieved at less rpm while maintaining the same maximum rpm limit. The crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons are new, in order to increase the compression ratio. For its control it has the MVICS system (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), which coordinates various parameters such as the electronic gas “Ride by Wire”, the power management of the four-map engine and the traction control.
The steering angle is half a degree higher compared to the Brutale 800, and the suspensions, multi-adjustable both front (Marzocchi 43 mm diameter and 150 mm travel) and rear (Sachs), take longer distances than the usual Supersport or Naked sports. As for brakes, it shares the same high-quality components as the Brutale, 320mm front disc and Brembo radial caliper, and 220mm rear disc. and two-piston caliper.
