The new Indian Springfield takes the base of the Indian Chief Classic and climbs a step as a tourist alternative. Not for this new personality Touring shuns its custom roots, with an ergonomics and image anchored in the principles of the reborn brand in this segment. As a technical novelty, it only provides a dimension with a different geometry, with a launch angle of 25º instead of the 29º of the Classic and a launch that reduces from 155 mm to 133 mm. In this way, superior maneuverability is achieved, which is very welcome in tours on twisty paths to which this Springfield edition is more prone given its more road-bound spirit.
Its image is defined by a screen analogous to that present in the Indian Chief Vintage, which is distinguished by the use of rigid suitcases that do not resemble saddlebags. They are equipped with an electric closing system, by means of which they can be closed and opened from the console or from the clausor.
These suitcases have also forced the redesign of the subframe to allow for a heavier load. Likewise, the area of the exhausts close to said suitcases has been modified with respect to the system present in the Vintage. Both the suitcases and the screen are easily removable without the need for any tools.
Other peculiarities of the new Indian Springfield lie in its leather seat similar to the Indian Bagger series but with specific finishes, and the platforms, adjustable in height and inclination.
The launch of the Indian Scout Sixty demonstrates the desire to expand the North American brand’s models just two years after its return to activity in the hands of the giant Polaris. It is notable to note that this range expansion is not only produced in new models to cover more cake on the market, in this case in lower displacement, but also taking care of its flagships such as this latest Indian Springfield evolution.
