The new and sophisticated electronic management with an advanced dynamic control package: aprc, c-abs, speed limiter and speed control.

The inimitable 175 hp v4 achieves Euro 4 approval without losing any of its special qualities and high performance and improves suspensions and brakes.

Euro 4 engine, the same impressive performance

The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 is the only 65º V four-cylinder Naked. Its narrow V architecture has allowed the realization of an engine with incredibly small longitudinal dimensions, favoring the centering of masses and the achievement of a very compact cycle part. All the modifications made in this evolution of the V4 have not only made it possible to achieve Euro 4 approval, but also to increase reliability and general performance, without losing anything of its character and the wonderful sound that excites all its users. The engine also has a new exhaust system with a silencer equipped with a double Lambda probe and an integrated valve. The engine control unit is also new, with a higher calculation capacity to increase the maximum speed, now 500 rpm higher. To ensure maximum reliability, while minimizing friction, the piston rings are provided with a DLC surface treatment, while the connecting rod head has a very fine surface treatment. The combustion chambers are no longer made of cast iron, but are made by means of numerical control machining, while the gearbox has a linear sensor that guarantees the optimal operation of the gear lever.

Suspensions and brakes directly from the new RSV4

If on the one hand the new Tuono V4 confirms its proverbial quality, maneuverability and stability offered by its chassis directly derived from the Aprilia RSV4, seven-time Superbike world champion, on the other hand, it introduces important innovations in both brakes and suspensions. The Brembo front brake system comes directly from the new RSV4 and has a double steel disc with a diameter increased to 330 mm, on which the new M50 monobloc calipers act with the new radial pump on the handlebar. The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory is equipped with a beautiful Öhlins NIX fork, fully adjustable both in hydraulic and spring preload. This equipment reduces by about 400 grams the weight of the previous version, along with the rear shock absorber and the steering damper (adjustable), from the same manufacturer.

Completely overhauled electronics

The main innovations focus on the electronics of the new Aprilia Tuono V4, always considered one of the best in its category, the so-called APRC system. The Aprilia Performance Ride Control is the electronic package derived directly from the technology that has prevailed in the Superbike World Championship, the most complete and refined of all those on the market. The fourth generation of the APRC, standard on the new Tuono V4 1100, is now better integrated into electronic management, thanks to the new throttle control fully integrated into the Ride-by-Wire system, which has allowed the elimination of all components superfluous for the electronic management of butterflies, thus saving 590 grams. The repositioning of the inertial platform that allows the APRC to function has allowed a better detection of the dynamic conditions of the motorcycle and, therefore, a more effective electronic control strategy.

The APRC system

The APRC system of the Tuono V4 1100 RR includes:

  • New ATC: Aprilia Traction Control, the adjustable traction control on the move, without cutting off the accelerator, with eight levels of use thanks to the practical joystick-style control, a logical gain to achieve better performance.
  • New AWC: Aprilia Wheelie Control, the front wheel lift control system, adjustable in three levels, has a new, much more precise operating strategy, thanks to the repositioning of the inertia platform. Front wheel lift control running without cutting off the throttle, as with the ATC, thanks to the new and more practical electronic control on the right side.
  • New ALC: Aprilia Launch Control, the three-level adjustable Exit Assist system for exclusive use on the runway, enjoys a new, much more efficient operating strategy.
  • New AQS: Aprilia Quick Shift, the electronic gearbox to quickly change gear without closing the throttle and without using the clutch, now equipped with the “downshift” function, which enables downshifting without engaging the clutch. Its function of engaging gears with the open throttle is exclusive.
  • New APL: Aprilia Pit Limiter, the system that allows you to select and limit the maximum speed allowed to access the “pit lane” on a circuit or simply easily respect the speed limits allowed on roads open to traffic.
  • New ACC: Aprilia Cruise Control. The new electronic management that allows the introduction of an evolved speed control system, very comfortable during long journeys, since it allows maintaining the selected speed without pressing the accelerator.

The new Tuono V4 1100 range adopts the evolved ABS Cornering multimap system, developed in collaboration with Bosch to guarantee maximum safety on the road, without losing any of its performance on the track. The 9.1 MP system, with really contained dimensions and weight, is capable of optimizing braking and the intervention of the ABS in a curve, thanks to a specific algorithm that always has under control such parameters as lateral acceleration, the pressure exerted on the lever of the front brake, the angle of inclination, inclination and orientation, modulating the action of the braking to guarantee the best performance of deceleration and stability.

The new ABS works in unison with Aprilia’s RLM (Rear Liftup Mitigation) system, which limits the lift of the motorcycle’s rear wheel in the most determined braking. The C-ABS, tuned according to Aprilia’s specific instructions, is adjustable on three levels and can be switched off. Furthermore, to allow riders of different experience and ability on the bike to find the best possible combinations, any of the C-ABS maps can be combined with the three engine maps (Sport, Track and Race). All three are in a position to deliver maximum power and only differ in the way they deliver the 175 hp that the Aprilia V4 is capable of developing, in addition to the percentage of engine brake that each one delivers.

The TFT color digital instrumentation is completely new, with exceptional viewing possibilities. On the two selectable screens (Road and Race, also with day and night backlighting) different representative indices can be displayed. As an option you can also have the new version V4-MP, the Aprilia multimedia platform that allows you to connect the smartphone to the vehicle, introducing a true system for tuning from curve to curve of the electronic components and whose data can be downloaded in a laptop (or directly in the memory of the smartphone) for analysis, just as it happens in competition. The new V4-MP has a new connection protocol that minimizes the consumption of the smartphone battery, in addition to offering a large series of already mapped circuits in which the electronic set-up, the possibility of timing and the introduction by the user of a new circuit that does not yet figure in the relationship proposed by Aprilia.

The V4-MP platform includes the new entertainment system, first introduced by Aprilia in the new Tuono V4, to manage voice commands, and the entry and exit of calls from the smartphone.
