Kymco presented at the 2016 Milan Motor Show an update of the Like 125 retro scooter, but it was not until April 2018 when the brand sold it at a price of 2599 euros. In addition to its renewed design, this scooter comes with a new mechanics, which not only complies with the Euro 4 regulations, but is also prepared for the next Euro 5 emissions regulations that will be released in 2020.
Since Kymco first launched the Like 125 in 1997, this scooter has evolved a lot. The current Like, with a retro design, was presented during the 2016 Milan Motor Show. As the brand describes it, it is an “easy, manageable, safe, stable and comfortable” scooter.
The Kymco Like has a new single cylinder, 4-valve, 125 cc, 11.6 horsepower engine (the previous version had 9 hp). According to the brand, this engine is low consumption, silent and immediate response. The modifications of the engine have also served to adapt it to the Euro 4 emission regulations, but also thinking about facing the next approval that comes into force in 2020, the Euro 5.
It has a new frame with a double parallel structure to achieve “better dynamic behavior”, according to Kymco. It is available with a CBS combined braking system. Its brake equipment consists of a 220-millimeter front disc and a three-caliper pistons, and a 200-millimeter rear disc with a single-piston caliper.As for the suspensions, it has a telescopic fork with 33-millimeter bars and 95-millimeter travel, and a double hydraulic shock absorber with 5-position adjustable preload. Its rims are 12 inches with a 110/70 front tire and a 130/70 rear tire.
As for equipment, it comes with all the LED lights (it is the second model to carry it after the AK 550), a multifunction dashboard, a USB charging port, a glove compartment with automatic anti-theft lock, a chrome handle and a bag hook. Under the seat there is the capacity to store a jet helmet. The customer can choose between three different colors for the body: satin gray, gloss white and red, the latter is exclusive to the European market.
