Description
The new MV Agusta three-cylinder engines go a long way and it has been perfectly feasible to increase their cubic capacity to 798 cc, and in this way raise the power to 125 HP. In addition to offering a very phased range of options on its naked, ranging from the Brutale 920, Brutale 1090, Brutale 1090 RR four-cylinder, to its recent three-cylinder naked 675 and 800 cc. But not only is it committed to diversifying its offer, but MV thus addresses a very young audience, less experienced than those interested in other highly demanding MV Agusta.
The MV Agusta Brutale is clearly slim and light, it is very attractive from the first glance. It takes the same base as the 675, and therefore the weight of the new 800 is very similar. The master lines are marked by a striking multi-tube chassis, and by the superb single-arm swingarm that characterizes all MV Agusta. The solution of the triple exhaust outlet on the right side, gives it an unmatched personality. Ergonomically it is a very well designed motorcycle, in which the rider and passenger will always find that it fits them like a glove.
The new Brutale 800 represents a serious evolution with first-line qualities, with more power and with a more refined cycle part. MV Agusta has done an excellent job on an engine that, even when covering 800 cc, has the same weight as the 675. The piston stroke has been increased to 54.3 mm and more torque has been achieved at less rpm, maintaining the same maximum rpm limit. The crankshaft, connecting rods and pistons are new, in order to increase the compression ratio. For its control it has the MVICS system (Motor & Vehicle Integrated Control System), which coordinates various parameters such as the electronic gas “Ride by Wire”, the power management of the four-map engine and the traction control.
The Brutale 800 gives the option of fine tuning the suspensions, both spring preload and hydraulic compression and extension of both trains. The front fork is a 43mm inverted Marzocchi fork with 125mm of travel, while the rear is an aluminum-bodied Sachs with the same travel. The brake set is equally impressive, with a kit of calipers with four radial-mount pistons in the front axle signed by Brembo, biting into large 320mm discs. Behind it is a single 220mm disc. with two-piston caliper from the same house, but while in the front caliper the pistons are 32mm, in the rear they are 34mm.
