BMW Motorrad AG is the motorcycle business unit of the German automobile manufacturer BMW AG, forming part of the Corporate and Brand Development division. This division was created in 2007, although BMW motorcycle manufacturing dates back to 1923 with the R32. Already then the two-cylinder Motor Boxer arrangement was adopted, which it still maintains today, along with other configurations.
