POWERFUL MOTOR

A new SOHC stock allows for a more compact design, being 15mm shorter and 500g lighter. As a result, the camshaft is now closer to the center of gravity, significantly improving drivability, while the shorter valve travel improves the performance and low-speed response of this 63 hp power engine.

GEARBOX

A new lightweight 5-speed gearbox manufactured by PANKL Racing Systems guarantees the highest level of durability and reliability. The shift lever is uniquely designed to prevent dirt buildup and keep it in its original position, even in the harshest conditions, while a geared gear sensor enables the ideal engine map for every gear.

LIGHTWEIGHT CHASSIS

Made up of laser-cut hydroformed tubes and joined by robotic welding, Husqvarna Motorcycles chassis have been designed with calculated bending parameters. In addition, the chassis offers greater longitudinal stiffness which translates into better riding sensations and superior energy absorption and straight-line stability. In addition, the chassis of the 4-stroke models now have new anchors planned to be able to install an optional engine protection available in the accessories catalog.

CARBON FIBER SUBCHASSIS

The composite subframe is a Husqvarna Motorcycles exclusive design and further proof of its technological innovative capacity. Made of 70% polyamide and 30% carbon fiber, the new 2-piece rear subframe now weighs just over 1 kg, saving 250g. Apart from a remarkable robustness, special care has been taken to achieve perfect rigidity for optimal behavior and comfort.

CRANKSHAFT

The crankshaft has been precisely positioned so that the oscillating masses are in the ideal center of gravity, thus offering a light and agile behavior to the engine. The inertia generated by the crankshaft has been carefully calculated to achieve optimum traction delivery and best use of the powerful 450cc engine. A flat connecting rod bearing and two pressure-mounted bushings guarantee maximum reliability and durability, and long maintenance intervals of up to 100 hours.

MECHANIZED STEERING PLATES

The machined aluminum headrests with a 22mm advance incorporate an elastic damping system that reduces vibrations and improves rider comfort. Thanks to the greater longitudinal stiffness of the chassis, the top plate is now more robust and works in harmony with the fork, offering superior behavior and stability. The handlebar comes standard with a 3-way adjustment function that allows ergonomics to be adapted to the rider’s needs.

MAGURA HYDRAULIC CLUTCH

The high-quality German clutch system is virtually maintenance-free and ensures even wear and perfect modulation in any condition. This means that the clearance is constantly compensated so that the resistance point and the operation of the clutch remain identical without being affected by temperature conditions or the passage of time.

DDS CLUTCH

The FC 450 equips a DDS clutch with a single steel diaphragm spring instead of traditional coil springs. It integrates a cushioning system to improve traction and increase durability. The clutch bell is machined from a single piece of steel, allowing the use of thinner discs of the same material, contributing to the compact dimensions of the engine.

FUNCTIONAL BODYWORK

The new body in the 2019 MX range showcases Husqvarna Motorcycles’ distinctive and innovative Swedish design. Its ergonomics has been specifically studied to provide maximum comfort and control, allowing the pilot to perform at their best for a longer time. After extensive testing, the contact points have also been narrowed to facilitate smooth movement between different riding positions.

WP AER 48 SUSPENSION

The WP AER 48 fork is lightweight and easy to adjust thanks to its accessible compression and extension adjustment dials, along with an air valve for pre-loading via the supplied air pump. Along with the fully adjustable WP DCC rear shock, Husqvarna Motorcycles offers superior suspension feel, comfort and performance.

WHEELS AND TIRES

Consisting of high-strength DID alloy rims and machined hubs, the wheels of the FC 450 are equipped with proven DUNLOP MX3S Motocross tires with the proven “lug-in-lug” design that deliver high cornering precision and traction superior on a wide variety of terrain.

BRAKES

The highest level of braking performance is guaranteed by the highest quality Brembo set of knobs and calipers. Solid 260mm front and 220mm rear brake discs offer superior stopping power and total confidence in all conditions.

MAP CHANGE SWITCH

A serial map change switch allows access to different functions. Can be used to initiate start control, allows the pilot to toggle between 2 engine maps or activate traction control. Both the traction control and the output control function receive updated settings to improve traction on sliding circuits, offering better behavior and faster starts.

ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The KEIHIN EMS has been designed to be smaller, lighter, and faster in data processing. Integrates the output control for perfect starts, selectable engine curves via handlebar switch and traction control.

44 MM THROTTLE BODY

The FC 450, like the rest of the 4-stroke motocross range, features a KEIHIN 44mm throttle body and injector system that ensures optimal response to the gas grip. The gas response has also been improved thanks to a more direct mount that prevents a throttle cable joint. This has allowed a new throttle cable run, which makes maintenance easier and reduces wear.

ELECTRIC START AND LITHIUM ION BATTERY

A new generation 2Ah lithium-ion battery allows the FC 450 to save 1kg in weight compared to a conventional type. This helps to reduce the overall weight of the bike. In addition, the electric starter makes it faster to resume the gear in case of engine stalling.
