POWERFUL MOTOR

A new SOHC stock allows for a more compact design, being 15mm shorter and 500g lighter. As a result, the camshaft is now closer to the center of gravity, significantly improving drivability, while the shorter valve travel improves the performance and low-speed response of this 63 hp power engine.

GEARBOX

A new lightweight 5-speed gearbox manufactured by PANKL Racing Systems guarantees the highest level of durability and reliability. The shift lever is uniquely designed to prevent dirt buildup and keep it in its original position, even in the harshest conditions, while a geared gear sensor enables the ideal engine map for every gear.

LIGHT CHASSIS

Made up of laser-cut hydroformed tubes and joined by robotic welding, Husqvarna Motorcycles chassis have been designed with calculated bending parameters. In addition, the chassis offers greater longitudinal stiffness which translates into better riding sensations and superior energy absorption and straight-line stability. In addition, the chassis of the 4-stroke models now have new anchors planned to be able to install an optional engine protection available in the accessories catalog.

CARBON FIBER SUBCHASSIS

The composite subframe is a Husqvarna Motorcycles exclusive design and further proof of its technological innovative capacity. Made of 70% polyamide and 30% carbon fiber, the new 2-piece rear subframe now weighs just over 1 kg, saving 250g. Apart from a remarkable robustness, special care has been taken to achieve perfect rigidity for optimal behavior and comfort.

CRANKSHAFT

The crankshaft has been precisely positioned so that the oscillating masses are in the ideal center of gravity, thus offering a light and agile behavior to the engine. The inertia generated by the crankshaft has been carefully calculated to achieve optimum traction delivery and best use of the powerful 450cc engine. A flat connecting rod bearing and two pressure-mounted bushings guarantee maximum reliability and durability, and long maintenance intervals of up to 100 hours.

MACHINED PLATES

Thanks to the increased longitudinal stiffness of the chassis, the 16 mm forward top plate is now more robust and works in harmony with the fork, offering superior behavior and stability. The handlebar comes standard with a 3-way adjustment function that allows ergonomics to be adapted to the rider’s needs.

MAGURA HYDRAULIC CLUTCH

The high-quality German clutch system is virtually maintenance-free and ensures even wear and perfect modulation in any condition. This means that the clearance is constantly compensated so that the resistance point and the operation of the clutch remain identical without being affected by temperature conditions or the passage of time.

FUNCTIONAL BODYWORK

The modern and functional bodywork with the traditional Husqvarna blue and yellow accentuation accentuates a simple yet elegant Swedish design. The ergonomic concept is customized to provide greater control and comfort, allowing riders to power at the highest level for extended periods of time. The seat features a low profile and high grip cover for superior control and comfort in any condition.

WP SUSPENSION

The 48mm split air fork features an encapsulated air spring and a pressurized oil chamber for smooth, progressive damping. This component is easily adjustable by a single air pressure valve for pre-loading (on the left bottle) and an accessible 30-click damping adjustment knob (on the right bottle). In addition, the air pump necessary to adjust the air pressure at the fork is supplied as standard with the motorcycle. The high-performance WP rear shock offers a 266mm stroke and is adjustable in extension and compression at high and low speed, ensuring excellent stability and first-class cushioning.

BRAKES

Excellent stopping power thanks to Brembo brakes with a radial piston 4-piston caliper and brake caliper, and a 310mm disc at the front. At the rear there is a single-piston brake caliper and a 220 mm disc. Controls are perfectly positioned for optimal balance and feel in extreme conditions.

WHEELS AND TIRES

Alpina spoke wheels, both front and rear, are light and strong. Smooth Bridgestone 125 / 80-16.5 and 165 / 65-17 tires are used for maximum grip, traction and agility.

MAP CHANGE SWITCH

Optimized for easy operation, the new map change switch makes it possible to switch between two different engine power curves, activate output control and the new traction control feature. The output control system limits the amount of power to the rear wheel, improving traction and thus preventing loss of control under strong acceleration at the time of departure. Traction control can be selected from the switch to the on or off position, and its operation is based on analysis of the pilot’s gas fist signal and the rate at which the engine RPM is increased. If the RPM increases too fast, the EMS registers a loss of grip and reduces the amount of power to the rear wheel to ensure maximum traction.

ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

The Keihin EMS has been designed to be smaller, lighter, and faster in data processing. It integrates the launch control for perfect starts, motor curves selectable through the handlebar switch and traction control. Along with the new gear recognition, the power development can be individually adjusted for each gear.

44 MM THROTTLE BODY

The FC 450 features a 44mm Keihin throttle body. The injector is precisely located to ensure the most efficient flow of gasoline to the combustion chamber. To ensure optimum response to the throttle, the throttle cable is mounted directly without mechanical connections, thus obtaining a more immediate response and a better feel.

ELECTRIC START AND LITHIUM ION BATTERY

The FS 450 features an electric start system that uses a compact 1kg Lithium Ion battery that is lighter than a conventional battery. The wiring harness is designed in such a way that the rear subframe can be removed without having to remove any cables.
