Distinctive style points abound. The LED headlamp and LED front position lights accentuate the sharp lines of the cover that covers the custom designed instrument panel. The elegant two-tone seat is comfortable and the seat strap provides good grip for the passenger. The taillight has an amazing lighting pattern, and the satellite’s rear fender extending from the swingarm complements the clean, compact, and crisp look of the rear.

All of this is complemented by KATANA’s raised black silencer.

Japanese blacksmiths spend countless hours repeatedly forging, hammering, bending and welding raw steel to achieve the correct balance necessary for optimal blade performance. This process is absolutely critical to achieve the desired result.

Driven by the same spirit, the Suzuki development team tested and tuned each component over and over until they were satisfied that KATANA would provide the optimal balance of power, comfort and control.

At the heart of the powerful KATANA is a custom long-stroke version of the legendary 999 cc fuel-injected in-line engine, which was first shown on the 2005-2008 GSX-R1000. Its wide torque output range is combined with a new throttle control that delivers this power smoothly. Both the induction roar and the exhaust note are tuned to increase the feeling of driving pleasure, while contributing to performance and combustion efficiency.

Putting this power on the road in a controllable and effective way is accomplished with a clutch with reverse torque limiter, Suzuki’s three-mode traction control system and new tires with an inner tubeless structure designed exclusively for KATANA. FUJICO disc brakes with Brembo front brake calipers and an anti-lock brake system (ABS) deliver predictable and reliable stopping power.
