The new Aprilia Shiver 900 evolves from the original project which, after its appearance in 2007, has become a reference in its category, being the first motorcycle in the world with Ride-by-Wire technology for electronic management. engine injection.

An Aprilia technological advance derived directly from the world of competition. Aprilia Cube was the first MotoGP to adopt this technology back in 2002 and now all world builders follow the same path.

The Aprilia Shiver 900 in its benefits, thanks to the new 900 cc V2 engine, is capable of raising not only power but also and above all, maximum torque at any speed and at the highest level in its category. More strength and more character to achieve great driving pleasure, without losing an iota of maneuverability and comfort, the main features of the Aprilia Shiver.

A motorcycle capable of falling in love with both newcomers and more experienced users is born thanks to a bicycle that, in the best Aprilia tradition, caters to the knowledge of a factory that has conquered 54 world titles in its young history and today sees its motorcycles involved in competitions of the highest level, such as MotoGP and Superbike.

The new structure – tank side covers, flanks, tail, and front fenders – are deeply renewed and the aesthetics are immediately distinguished in the new naked from Noale, which stands out for its energetic finishes, which give it a markedly sporty character: wheels , chassis, shock absorber spring and cylinder covers are finished in red.

The control instruments are completely new and constitute a very modern TFT technology display screen that ensures perfect definition of the information. The large 4.3 ”screen (the same one used in the Aprilia RSV4 and Aprilia Tuono 1100 V4 versions) allows all the on-board information to be displayed clearly and legibly, thanks also to the possibility of adapting the background color. and the colors of the characters depending on the ambient light conditions by means of a sensor integrated in the system.

The connectivity with the Smartphone, which is offered as an accessory with the AMP kit (Aprilia Multimedia Platform), allows to have directly on the screen all relevant data and incoming or ongoing calls, as well as information regarding the use of the intercom or of possible audio reproduction systems.

Easy, powerful, technologically advanced, the Aprilia Shiver 900 is equipped for the first time with an evolved traction control system that increases safety while raising driving pleasure to the highest level. From the metropolitan environment to en-route tours, mountain passes or long-distance and tourist itineraries, the Shiver 900 is an invitation to take the helmet and go in search of the most incredible sensations on two wheels.


The new Euro 4 engine grows from 750 c.c. from the first version up to 900 cc, achieved thanks to the increase in stroke, which increases the power to the crankshaft to exceed the figure of 95 hp (70 kW) and, above all, clearly increases the maximum torque at medium speed, with the consequent increase in advantages in acceleration and at the exit of the curve. The 90 Nm at 6,500 rpm that is achieved is the best guarantee of fun.

The new propeller maintains its 90 degree inclination between the two cylinders, with distribution with four valves per cylinder, double overhead camshaft and liquid cooling, in addition to a new and more efficient lubrication circuit and the new Marelli 7SM electronic control unit.

The new Shiver 900 takes full advantage of Aprilia’s experience with the electronic control and driving aids used by the Aprilia RSV4 – the super sports car capable of winning seven world titles (three as drivers and four as manufacturers) in the World Superbike in its Racing version and constantly stand out at the top of the category among road bikes-, an unbeatable example.

From all this experience and technological leadership, Aprilia brings to its Shiver 900 a highly evolved traction control that guarantees maximum safety and the purest driving fun; brilliant thanks to the double control that intervenes on the ignition and the motorized throttle bodies that favor a delivery of sweet power and easy to manage at all times.

The Ride-by-wire, which in the first version of Shiver was exclusive on a series motorcycle, also changes and evolves. In this latest version the system gains in lightness thanks to the weight reduction of almost half a kilo.

The exhausts, one of the most characteristic elements of the Aprilia Shiver’s aesthetics due to its position under the seat, which allows to achieve very fine and polished motorcycle side lines, have been completely re-designed. They maintain their original position but the exhaust terminals are now shorter and facing upwards. The gas flow is now oriented laterally and downwards to avoid interference with the passenger and to guarantee better comfort.
