Description
ENGINE
The TE 300i incorporates an advanced electronic fuel injection system. This consists of a set of injectors placed in the transfer ports to deliver the ideal amount of fuel to the engine in all conditions. This not only reduces fuel consumption and emissions, but also offers smoother and cleaner power delivery, taking this prestigious 2T to a new level.
CYLINDER
The cylinder design includes two housings in the transfer ports at the rear of the cylinder to locate a pair of fuel injectors. The injectors spray the fuel down into the transfer port ensuring excellent atomization with the air flowing up into the combustion chamber. This ensures more efficient combustion, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
BUTTERFLY BODY
The TE 300i uses a 39mm throttle body, which regulates the amount of air entering the engine through a throttle operated by two throttle cables connected to a new gas grip on the handlebar. Unlike 4T throttle bodies, fuel is not introduced at this point, but 2T greasing oil mixes with air entering the engine to lubricate crankshaft, cylinder and piston. In addition, a throttle position sensor (TPS) transmits air flow data to the ECU, which, in turn, calculates the amount of oil and fuel supplied to the engine, while a bypass screw regulates the engine speed. Idle and a cold start device opens a bypass providing more air for cold starts.
TANK AND OIL PUMP
The TE 300i incorporates an electronic grease pump that supplies the vital oil for a 2T engine. The pump is located just below the oil tank and supplies the lubricant through the throttle body, which means that the oil does not mix with the gasoline, thus eliminating the need for traditional pre-mixing of 2T engines. The pump is EMS controlled and provides the optimum amount of oil based on current rpm and engine load, reducing waste as well as excessive smoke through the exhaust. The oil tank is located under the gasoline tank and is connected to a fill line that runs through the top tube of the chassis to a conveniently located fill cap for easy refilling. The tank capacity is 0.7 l and is connected to a level sensor that alerts the pilot by means of a light indicator when the tank needs to be refilled.
MOLYBDENO CHROME STEEL CHASSIS
The hydroformed, laser-cut and robot-welded chassis is expertly manufactured by WP Performance Systems. The chassis flexibility features have been specifically designed to improve suspension performance, handling and comfort. The top tube integrates the oil filler cap and houses a conduit that runs down to the oil reservoir for easy and accessible refilling operation. Chassis and engine fenders installed as standard and directly anchored to the frame guarantee excellent protection and durability.
CARBON FIBER AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL SUBCHASSIS
The composite subframe is a unique Husqvarna design that showcases pioneering technologies and innovation. This 3-piece component is made of 30% carbon fiber, making it extremely light (1.4 kg) and strong. Special care has been taken to achieve the ideal stiffness in order to achieve better behavior and optimum ergonomics.
WP XPLOR 48
The WP Xplor 48 front fork has been developed by WP Performance Systems specifically for enduro riding. This fork features an open cartridge design with a spring on each bar and with separate damping functions.
REAR SHOCK ABSORBER WP
The WP DCC rear shock is designed to provide advanced damping characteristics while retaining a lightweight and compact design. With a balanced pressure inside the shock absorber, the stroke is more fluid, which translates into greater comfort and manageability, while the corrugated outer surface of the tank improves cooling.
PRO TAPER HANDLEBAR
As for practicality and style, the new Pro Taper handlebar is unrivaled. Manufactured to rigorous standards, the Pro Taper handlebar achieves class-leading fatigue resistance with minimal weight. Pro Taper logos have been applied through a chemical process, so they cannot come off and are scratch resistant.
MAGURA BRAKE SYSTEM
The high-quality Magura brake system has been designed to offer optimum sensitivity and progressive feel, in addition to the highest level of performance. 260mm front and 220mm rear disc.
MAGURA HYDRAULIC CLUTCH
This high-quality German clutch system is virtually maintenance-free and ensures even wear and perfect modulation in any condition. This means that the play is constantly compensated so that the touch and operation of the clutch are not affected by temperature or the passage of time.
SELF-CLEANABLE FOOTREST ANCHORS
Husqvarna’s chassis incorporates an ingenious, self-cleaning footrest anchoring system that prevents mud build-up in this area. As a result, the footrest will always return to its original position, ensuring perfect control of the bike. The wide aluminum footrests are enduro-specific toothed and are also mounted 6mm higher than on motocross models to further increase ground clearance in deep stone and rut areas.
ELECTRIC AND PEDAL START
The TE 300i is equipped with an electric starter motor perfectly hidden underneath the engine crankcases. The system is powered by a lightweight and powerful lithium ion battery that weighs 1 kg less than a conventional lead acid battery. A starter lever is part of the standard equipment for even more peace of mind.
POWER CURVE SELECTOR
Engine characteristics can be tailored thanks to the standard map shift switch that modifies power delivery based on rider preferences, conditions and terrain type.
HIGH CAPACITY GASOLINE TANK
The new fuel tank made of light translucent plastic allows long hours of driving without refueling. Its design allows the pilot to easily check the fuel level. In addition, this 9-liter tank mounts a quick-release cap to avoid wasting time on refueling.
WHEELS AND TIRES
Sturdy black DID alloy wheels mate with machined hubs using new lightweight spokes with silver anodized aluminum nipples. In combination with these new rims, Metzeler 6 Days Extreme tires offer superior grip on a wide variety of terrain.
