Euro 4 engine, the same impressive performance
The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 is the only 65º V four-cylinder Naked. Its narrow V architecture has allowed the realization of an engine with incredibly small longitudinal dimensions, favoring the centering of masses and the achievement of a very compact cycle part. All the modifications made in this evolution of the V4 have not only made it possible to achieve Euro 4 approval, but also to increase reliability and general performance, without losing anything of its character and the wonderful sound that excites all its users. The engine also has a new exhaust system with a silencer equipped with a double Lambda probe and an integrated valve. The engine control unit is also new, with a higher calculation capacity to increase the maximum speed, now 500 rpm higher. To ensure maximum reliability, while minimizing friction, the piston rings are provided with a DLC surface treatment, while the connecting rod head has a very fine surface treatment. The combustion chambers are no longer made of cast iron, but are made by means of numerical control machining, while the gearbox has a linear sensor that guarantees the optimal operation of the gear lever.
Suspensions and brakes directly from the new RSV4
If on the one hand the new Tuono V4 confirms its proverbial quality, maneuverability and stability offered by its chassis directly derived from the Aprilia RSV4, seven-time Superbike world champion, on the other hand, it introduces important innovations in both brakes and suspensions. The Brembo front brake system comes directly from the new RSV4 and has a double steel disc with a diameter increased to 330 mm, on which the new M50 monobloc calipers act with the new radial pump on the handlebar. The Aprilia Tuono V4 1100 Factory is equipped with a beautiful Öhlins NIX fork, fully adjustable both in hydraulic and spring preload. This equipment reduces by about 400 grams the weight of the previous version, along with the rear shock absorber and the steering damper (adjustable), from the same manufacturer.
Completely overhauled electronics
The main innovations focus on the electronics of the new Aprilia Tuono V4, always considered one of the best in its category, the so-called APRC system. The Aprilia Performance Ride Control is the electronic package derived directly from the technology that has prevailed in the Superbike World Championship, the most complete and refined of all those on the market. The fourth generation of the APRC, standard on the new Tuono V4 1100, is now better integrated into electronic management, thanks to the new throttle control fully integrated into the Ride-by-Wire system, which has allowed the elimination of all components superfluous for the electronic management of butterflies, thus saving 590 grams. The repositioning of the inertial platform that allows the APRC to function has allowed a better detection of the dynamic conditions of the motorcycle and, therefore, a more effective electronic control strategy.
