The FE 450 equips first-class technology and high-end components as standard. The chrome molybdenum chassis has been expertly designed to offer ideal flexing characteristics, while the powerful motor’s internal shaft arrangement is designed to improve mass centering and drivability. With the combination of traction control, WP suspensions and an enduro-specific rear link system, the FE 450 does not accept compromises of any kind in terms of quality and pure enduro performance.
Weighing just 29.7 kg, the 450 cc engine is not only light and compact, but also offers the most advanced technology available for performance, handling and reliability unmatched in its class. In addition, the engine is specifically tailored for enduro riding with standard electric start, 6-speed open-ratio gearbox and a wide range of electronic assistance systems.
The lightweight aluminum cylinder has a diameter of 95mm and a lightweight bridge-box type König piston. This combination allows minimum oscillating masses that result in a drastic reduction in vibrations and an improvement in comfort for the pilot.
The compact SOHC cylinder head offers maximum performance and minimum weight. The new camshaft drives four light valves (titanium Ø = 40 mm and 32.6 g inlet and steel Ø = 33 mm and 42.6 g exhaust) through a robust rocker arm system .
A flat connecting rod bearing and two pressure-mounted bushings guarantee maximum reliability and durability, and long maintenance intervals of up to 135 hours.
