Description
Suzuki has in its sports range with the GSX250R, a model whose familiar GSX-R design is the main attraction for beginners. To give life to this small 250 sports car, Suzuki has used the two-cylinder engine of the Inazuma 250 that offers a power of 24.7 HP and 22 Nm. Equipped with electronic injection, it is a silent engine, with very few vibrations, elastic and very fuel saving (3.1 l/100 km). Suzuki has worked to optimize its performance and adapt it to the Euro4 nomination, for example mounting a new intake valve. And this has been accompanied by a new 2-1 silencer responsible for improved performance, while being able to reduce polluting emissions. Thanks to the 15-liter fuel tank, the GSX250R can cover many kilometers without stopping to refuel, offering a range of more than 450 km, according to official data.
The announced weight is 178 kg, a figure that will undoubtedly weigh down the performance of the Suzuki GSX-R250, placing it inferior to other small sports such as the Kawasaki Ninja 300, Yamaha YZF-R3 or the KTM RC 390. All they are more powerful because they also have more cubic capacity.
Despite its spectacular GSX-R inspired design, the components have been raised to offer an effective and logical bike. Therefore, the suspensions (KYB) and brakes are conventional, nothing of unnecessary flashes such as an inverted fork or a radial anchor caliper that would logically give it greater sports performance but would inflate its price. Even so, it has a Bosch anti-lock ABS braking system as standard.
Suzuki bets on the hook of its familiar GSX-R design but we are really a motorcycle for daily use, whose semi-handlebars are even above the stem to avoid loading the rider’s wrists.
LED’s are used for its eye-catching front and rear optics, projecting an avant-garde sports image. The seat is two pieces, guaranteeing the comfort of both occupants although the passenger does not have handles. Its instrumentation stands out, an LCD screen with fully digital information and interesting parameters such as gear engaged or fuel consumption. As a curiosity, the rev counter has a disconnection option.
