Description
Today the Audace is the blatant interpreter of Moto Guzzi’s rebellious spirit, a brand with a unique, often exclusive personality. The history of the Mandello Eagle is peppered with unique options: the transversal V90, the capacity for innovation, the sporting records, the famous eight-cylinder. Moto Guzzi has never been afraid to show its unique character and after more than 90 years, history has not changed.
Apparent, muscular, bad, the Moto Guzzi Audace is immediately recognizable by its front, with a light and stylish look thanks to its round optical group and its carbon front fender mounted on a fork without protective bushings.
The Audace is chrome-free: every mechanical detail, every lightly exposed piece of metal is dark as night, an ideal condition for enjoying a solo motorcycle to magnetize beauty like this new 1400 c.c. by Moto Guzzi.
The Audace is the perfect representation of Moto Guzzi’s second soul, of the “Dark Urban”. A dark Soul already anticipated by Moto Guzzi with his V7 Stone II and which he reiterated with the “Dark Rider” customization elements developed for the Mandello “750”.
Miguel Galluzzi, head of the Piaggio Group Design Center in Pasadena (PADC), California, presents the new Audace as follows: “The first steps of the new Moto Guzzi course have been inspired by the celebration of the first ninety years of life of this great brand, born in 1921 and unique in the world for the values it embodies.
Moto Guzzi’s desire to grow is perfectly summed up in the strong and uncompromising character of the new Audace. I believe that this bike, today, gathers better than any word the most modern soul and the most immediate future of the Mandello market. Just look at it to find all the answers. Sitting on this imposing bike, feeling the powerful twin cylinder and rolling is all you need to know to understand what Moto Guzzi now stands for. The new Audace perfectly interprets the most authentic Moto Guzzi spirit ”.
The light, in the lines of the Audace, only with the clear contrast of its side band, allows you to discover many new details. The metallic radiator grille or the short bullhorn with aluminum motifs that give the vehicle an “outlaw” look, but also at the forefront of emissions control. In fact, thanks to the use of a system with secondary air and a specific catalyst, the Audace is the first Moto Guzzi approved with the Euro 4 standard.
Side panels and footrest for the passenger. The platforms disappear – we are not on a “cruiser” – and give way to much simpler footrests and gear change and brake controls to make room for more sporty driving.
A very careful design of the seat, with a sporty configuration, upholstered with eco leather and exposed red seams, lowered in the pilot area and with the possibility of removing the passenger seat. The handlebar design is of the “drag bar” type thanks to the position of the footrests and the position of the seat, which determines a more elongated and dominant driving position.
Of special value are the black painted cylinder head covers with milled details, the multi-adjustable rear shocks with separate gas tank, custom alloy wheels with the Moto Guzzi logo and minimalist rear view mirrors.
Imposing and aggressive, the Audace looks like the figure of a feline resting on its hind legs and ready to unleash all its explosive force and scratch the asphalt, leaving the mark of the large size of its rear tire, 200/60.
The generosity of its 1400 cc 90 ° V-Twin with Mandello quality is well known and now, thanks to the new exhaust system redesigned in its fluid dynamics, it has gained new vigor at high revs to achieve a torque of
121 Nm at 3000 rpm.
As a result, and thanks to a much more favorable power-to-weight ratio, accelerations give the Audace unsuspected vigor.
Indeed, the Audace will be the most widely used Moto Guzzi with the “Veloce” choice of the Ride by Wire multi-map control system closely guarded by its MGCT traction control.
If your large two-cylinder engine is an absolute benchmark in the category in the displacement / performance / consumption ratio and thanks to the excellent thermodynamic performance, the evolved Ride by Wire system allows you to choose between three engine maps: Tourism, Rapid and rain.
The new Moto Guzzi Audace is offered in two colors: Black and Red.
